Over the last 20 years, Emmy award-winning husband and wife production team Steve and Joanie Wynn have traveled the world together, producing stories for Travel Channel, History Channel, Discovery, HBO and Conservation Corporation Africa.

In 2009, The Wynns they traveled to Tanzania to produce a documentary on a hands on volunteer project refurbishing classrooms at a school for AIDS orphans.  Steve and Joanie were inspired by the incredible group of volunteers who worked alongside the locals for positive change.  Their documentary, “A Journey for Good: Tanzania” aired on public television stations around the country, receiving four Emmy nominations and winning two Telly Awards.

They returned home inspired and motivated.  They decided to develop Journeys for Good as a way to use their storytelling skills to give back.  They want to spread the message of volunteer travel & bring awareness to the important underlying humanitarian issues and challenges which face impoverished communities around the world.

In December of 2012, the Wynns took another volunteer trip, this time with their son Ryan.  They traveled to Cambodia with non-profit voluntour operator Globe Aware.  Again, they documented the experience as they worked alongside a dedicated group of volunteers.  They built wheelchairs for landmine victims, taught English to local school kids and worked on several short-term construction projects for disabled families in and around Siem Reap.  Their half-hour program “Journeys for Good: Cambodia” is the pilot for a series they are currently developing for public television.  In December 2013, it aired on KQED-TV San Francisco, receiving two regional Emmy awards, including best cultural/historical program.
